Construction work began this week

Construction began this week along Nippersink Boulevard with the contractor setting up the traffic control signs and establishing the northbound detour. The contractor also completed the pavement removal along the west side of Nippersink Boulevard, from Oak Street to Ernest Avenue.

Next, week, weather permitting, the contractor plans to deliver materials to the jobsite, saw cutting sections to be removed, and beginning installation of the proposed storm sewer improvements.

Traffic has been modified to one-way southbound along Nippersink Boulevard between Rolland Place and Oak Street, and traffic will remain two-way along Nippersink Boulevard between Grand Avenue and Rolland Place for improved access to some of the local businesses as shown in the above image.

Motorists should expect minor delays as the work gets going along Nippersink Boulevard. Please be aware of construction workers and equipment when traveling through the work zone.
